Looking for feedback, etc, on this game idea. I suspect it's either too similar to another game mode or I'm missing some critical game-breaking problem. 😆
Double Agent: 15 mins
Backstory: Your nation has three moles in deep cover in the enemy team. Things are heating up and military intelligence has tasked your team with extracting the moles. However, they are unable to provide ID. Your team's job is to find your three moles and extract them to your base. However, there is suspicion that the enemy has replaced one mole with a double agent.
Objective: Extract the moles to boost your team numbers for the second stage of the game. Then try to identify and eliminate the double agent once they are activated before they can do too much damage.
Setup: Two moles and one double agent are chosen by secret lottery for each team, like a regular traitor game.
Gameplay: When a player is hit, they kneel down with hands on their head (the classic 'prisoner' pose). Approach an enemy player, place a hand on their shoulder and ask, "Are you a [your team colour] agent?" If the reply is "Yes", extract them to your base. If "No", they go back to their own base to respawn (or leave them? Not sure). If you approach a kneeling player of your own colour, place a hand on their shoulder and say, "You're rescued. Return to base." That player then returns to spawn and fights on.
If the escort or mole is hit during extraction, they kneel down as above and wait for a player to approach them. After extracting a mole to your base, swap their marker colour and they join your team (roll of tape at your spawn). Remember, moles, to change your radio channel!
Kneeling players are considered 'unconscious' and may not use radios or otherwise communicate with anyone except to answer the ID question. No shouting for help, etc. They may only relay information after completing the respawn process by returning to base.
At a pre-determined time (e.g. half time) a buzzer is sounded, activating the double agent and the game devolves into standard TDM (no more respawns). If any moles remain on your team, they continue to play honestly for your team; they don't want to be exposed, after all!
Not sure about this bit: The double agent can only be eliminated by the team they are sabotaging OR can be eliminated as normal by any player on either team (so remember who was on your team and check those targets!).
Notes: Mole/double agent numbers can be adjusted depending on team size. Could count eliminations in the TDM stage by players using one of those clicker counter things (or maybe on an AOJ device if it's programmed appropriately) as they enter safety.
